Programs and Services
Annual Meeting
Our Annual Meeting, or Family Reunion, is an educational symposium that offers peer support for families with bleeding disorders.
This year we will feature an educational session in which manufacturers will have the opportunity to speak about their products to patient families.
There will be a Young Adult Track where adults ages 18 - 25 can learn leadership training, networking, and management skills.
There will be a Women's Track for women ages 18 and up. Women will be coached on how to empower themselves to get treatment for themselves or their children.
Newsletter ~ The Pulse
The newsletter provides education and information to patient families while offering advertising opportunities for ad sponsors. It has what we did in the past months and will be doing in future months.
Camp Freedom ~ Is Moving
Camp Freedom is a week-long, overnight camp for children ages 6-15. Camp offers: education, peer support, fun, and physical fitness for young patients. This year our new home for camp will be at Courageous Kids in Scottsville, KY. July 14 - 19, 2008.

AVEET is ~now CLOTT
The AVEET/ Do the 5 grant ran up and the AVEET group realized they had gone as far as they could go with teaching Do the 5. It was decided to make the group Community Leaders of Tomorrow, Today ~ CLOTT. This group has grown from 7 members in the beginning to 14 active members today. CLOTT will be presenting at Annual meeting. They have two educational seminars ready for presenting to schools, nurses, and conferences.
Their mission statement is: Community Leaders of Tomorrow, Today (CLOTT) is dedicated to educating and empowering people inside and outside of our community. CLOTT wants to improve the lives of people with bleeding disorders, as well as others, and to increase the overall knowledge for all ages. We are basing our program on the beliefs of: honesty, individualism, awareness, and empowerment. We are Youth leaders leading Youth with a purpose of education so that they can succeed in the bleeding disorder community, as well as all areas of life.

A - Annual Comprehensive Check-up at your Hemophilia Treatment
Center
V - Vaccinations for Hepatitis A & B
E - Early and Adequate Treatment of Bleeds
E - Exercise and Eat Healthy
T - Test Regularly for Blood Borne Infections
This program is designed to teach young people about NHF Do the 5.
Women Empowering Women (WEW)
This program offers education about womens bleeding disorders by training women to educate the general public. Woman Empowering Woman will increase understanding among the general public that bleeding disorders are common and do require medical attention.
There mission statement is: Improving women's quality of life by bringing advocacy and education, for the awareness and empowerment of women with bleeding disorders.

Parents Empowering Parents (PEP)
PEP is an opportunity for parents to communicate with each other as they begin to raise their children. It is all about communication. PEP is for any parent that has a child or any child that is trying to understand their parent. PEP gives you a true sense of understanding for each other. PEP taps into your inner child and teaches you about realistic goals for your children and yourself. PEP will give you your own personal view, teaches you about active listening, thinking about what you say before you say it, and how your thoughts and feelings affect others. PEP will change your life.

Dads in Action
This program focuses on educating and encouraging fathers that have bleeding disorders and fathers of those with bleeding disorders to become more involved in meeting the daily medical needs and care of their children.
Assistance & Scholarships
Our Assistance Program provides patients with needed services such as to and from medical appointments, gas reimbursement, and emergency assistance with basic needs.
Our Scholarship Program helps patient families with expenses associated with higher education costs and enrichment activities. Our scholarship recipients must meet set guidelines.
